WORK

Set dressing and prop graphic design

My key task was to help SetDec and the Props team with providing detailed graphic designs for the sets. For the design process I used lots of references, pictures, books, newspapers to recreate a realistic contemporary look.

I created several detailed graphic designs (signs, paper works, labels, stickers, packagings, vehicle graphics) working closely with the production designer.

The Chalenge

FBI: International is a spinoff series from Dick Wolf’s FBI universe, alongside FBI and FBI: Most Wanted. This third series focuses on solving international crimes across Europe, requiring a distinctly different visual approach compared to its U.S.-based counterparts. European settings come with a unique visual language, which had to be authentically represented throughout the show.

One of the greatest challenges of the production is the extremely tight timeline. Each episode’s preparation, including designing and delivering all associated graphics, must be completed within just a few weeks. This includes accounting for not only design time but also production and on-set installation. With no opportunity for reshoots, every graphic must be flawless on the first try. Additionally, the show is produced and aired simultaneously, requiring the team to maintain a relentless pace to ensure the series remains on schedule and meets fan expectations.

Bringing the Vision to Life

I have been part of the FBI: International team since its first season, helping to establish the series’ distinct graphic style that sets it apart from other Dick Wolf productions. Collaborating closely with the production designer, set decorators, props department, and directors, I helped define a visual language that authentically reflects the diverse European settings and cases featured in the show. Every graphic, from hero pieces like top-secret missile transport containers to subtle details like police posters or ice cream cups, was crafted to enhance the storytelling.

With only a few weeks to design, produce, and install graphics for each episode, the fast-paced production required rapid and precise decision-making. There was no room for error, as delays could disrupt the schedule. Even with complex tasks like creating intricate blueprints or designing graphics for multi-language settings, our team delivered high-quality results on time.

Starting in pre-production, I helped shape the visual identity of the series, drawing on my experience to ensure authenticity and consistency. The dynamic nature of the show, with its ever-changing locations and storylines, required creativity and adaptability, and my contributions have helped FBI: International achieve the exceptional quality expected of a Dick Wolf production while bringing something fresh and unique to the FBI universe.
